Age…24-25…and the man-hunt begins! I guess, I can call this as a race to merchandise the girls in the marketing community and then get her married to someone she doesn’t know. In India, the selection process for a perfect man-hunt starts from the day when the girl completes her graduation. I don’t know why I thought to pen down this subject, but somewhere and somehow this society is eliminating the blood right of a girl to reject a man she is not comfortable with…I think perhaps love comes on the day when you find someone utterly comfortable with your world and with your thoughts. It’s like making you understand yourself… The man-hunt selection process starts with making bio-datas and passing it on to the societal hands who wish to have your daughter as their daughter-in-law. But, why is a girl not asked about her choice first? Why it’s always about going with the society? It’s always not about finding ‘The one’ for a girl…But, more than that it’s about finding someone with whom she can have just fun. Our society has been considering the act of ‘awareness’ in some different citation. They say, ‘Girls have got no control over their choices for their life-partners’. But people, let me tell you, ’Sometimes, it gets ridiculously difficult to get a perfect match who will expand her choices’.
Now, this is the story about Nikita and how her biodata got auctioned to someone she didn’t know……..
‘Nikita Wake up, its 9 am darling’, called her mother. ‘Just 2 mins mom’, she mumbled in sleep. ‘No Sweety, just wake up. Your uncle is here to meet you’, her mother baffled. She woke up from her bed rubbing her eyes. ‘Hey hello Nikita’, said her maternal Uncle. ‘Hi Uncle!’ she greeted. ‘Look at you. It’s your 24th birthday and someone now needs a perfect soul mate’, he said looking at her. ‘What does that mean?’ she questioned. ‘Nikita, I have two proposals waiting for you. So, I wanted to ask you when they should be called?’ he questioned. ‘What the hell is this? I’m just 24 and you are thinking of me to get marry? It’s ridiculous uncle!’ she exclaimed. ‘But, it’s the perfect age for you to get marry’ he said. ‘But, what about my ambitions? Don’t you need to ask about me and my choices’, she shouted. ‘But Nikita, me and your daddy want to get you married soon’, her mother exclaimed. ‘But, mommy I really don’t want to marry so early’, she quoted. ‘I think didi, these generations are over-aware about their choices and decisions’, her uncle said to her mumm.
‘What will a girl do after getting married? Simply, carry her pregnant tummy and look after her new children every year?’ Nikita said. ‘We have seen many seasons as compared to you’ her uncle exclaimed. ‘That doesn’t mean that we haven’t faced any thunders uncle’ she spoke in anger’. She tried every possible thing to explain her direction, but it was her uncle who stood on his feet to auction her and her emotions. Even her parents were helpless now….Now, how is Nikita going to deal with this situation? Want to know more? Stay tuned for the next part?
Now, your response will help us to open up the coming parts…….
